angela sykes - founder of yoga kula
Angela started Yoga Kula in her Mum’s living room and built it into a thriving yoga business over 13 years.
Angela is a senior yoga teacher has a deep and wide knowledge of many styles of yoga and yoga therapies.
Angela instills a culture of kindness, support and growth throughout the Yoga Kula studios from staff, teaching team, students and teacher trainees.

Taylor has been teaching with Yoga Kula for over 5 years. Taylor came to the timetable with a bang in the sense that her vinyasa yoga classes quickly became waitlist - every week.
Taylor is known for her mythical sequencing, challenging classes and uplifting yoga wisdom.
Taylor teaches a range of pop ups and courses at Yoga Kula including inversions and vinyasa sequencing trainings.

dan porter
Dan found yoga over 5 years ago and never looked back.
Dan has always been a physical person who grew up playing team sports - his love for yoga gave him access to a deeper current which he now follows as he develops both as a teacher and a practitioner.
Dan loves teaching a powerful class but always brings it back to the deeper current within which he discovered in his own practice.
Dan is known for his enthusiasm for teaching yoga and his love of palo santo which he always uses to cleanse the space pre class.

Tiia graduated from Yoga Kula’s very first 18 month teacher training course and has been a core part of the Kula team ever since.
Tiia is a trained dancer and dance teacher so she effortlessly combines her knowledge of the body into her yoga classes. Her classes are creative yet technical and her friday hot yoga class often goes to waitlist.
Tiia has a dedicated following at Yoga Kula Chapel Allerton as well as directing Yoga Kula Victoria Quarter in Leeds city centre.
Tiia is known for her skilled hands on adjustments, her deep knowledge of the body and her own strict daily yoga practice.

amanda winburn
Amanda brings a deep wisdom, compassion and authenticity to her sessions at Yoga Kula.
Amanda has been on the Yoga Kula team for many years and also mentors and teaches on our 300 hour teacher training course. Amanda is known for her mindful, supportive and authentic yoga classes.

Tash joined the Yoga Kula team after re-locating from London where she was already a popular and established Yoga Teacher.
Tash used yoga and meditation to heal her own chilood trauma - she now uses her knowledge and experience to support those suffering from stress and burnout.
She likes to live life at a slower pace and her classes reflect this - in her classes you will enjoy soulful slow flows and resting poses to bring the nervous system back into check.

Kevin is a personal trainer who loves the spiritual side of yoga. He graduated from the Yoga Kula Teacher Training Course with flying colours and quickly became a firm favourite on the weekly timetable.
Kevin’s classes are impactful, powerful and progressive while holding onto the calm, relaxing feeling we all enjoy from a great yoga class.
Kevin finds that he is always making new discoveries through class planning, reading yoga books and his own self practice - he brings his rich knowledge and wisdom to Yoga Kula every Sunday morning for his Hot Ashtanga Fusion class.

Carly’s classes are calming, soothing and relaxing. You will be invited into a welcoming space expertly held and leave feeling nourished.
Carly is passionate about bringing a quality of mindfulness into her classes and teaching around both the internal and external facets of a yoga practice.

Jess started her yoga journey in California many many years ago and has been a dedicated ashtanga practitioner ever since.
Jess trained in ashtanga yoga with David Swenson who is one of the top practitioners globally.
Jess enjoys sharing all she knows with her students in her sessions at Yoga Kula.
Jess is known for her accessible yet challenging classes, her ability to offer great verbal and physical adjustments and her dedication to seeing her students progress.

You will find Anna on her yoga mat early each morning practicing Ashtanga Yoga.
Anna’s dedication for the practice has led her to study with some of the most senior Ashtanga teachers in the world and she always has her next round of study booked in so she can say inspired for herself and her students.
As well as Ashtanga Anna is a musician who developed a passion for crystal tones singing bowls while training with Yoga Kula.
Anna teaches a regular sonic meditation pop up but you will need to be quick to book as it’s almost always waitlist.

Colette’s dedication to her yoga practice is legendary. She has travelled the globe teaching and practicing yoga.
Colette co-developed a style of yoga called Embodied Flow while living and teaching in Bali. Her unique approach blends vinyasa flow, somatic yoga and yoga philosophy.
Colette is known for her deep and enduring commitment to a yogic lifestyle, her ability to weave in and decode yoga philosophy to make it digestible whilst encouraging her students to flow in a way that feels good for their bodies. Colette’s weekly class is not to be missed.

Lydia joined the Yoga Kula team in 2024 and has been teaching inspiring and challenging hot yoga classes with us ever since.
Lydia's classes are inspiring, kind and supportive and offer those both newer to yoga and those with more experience enjoy a physically challenging class.

Becky has been teaching at Yoga Kula for 12 years.
Becky is Yoga Kula’s yin expert who is known for her clear delivery, dedication to seeing her students progress in the practice and her deep knowledge of yoga.
Becky has been involved in the Yoga Kula 300 hour 18 month Teacher Training Course since its inception where she guides trainees through yin and beginners practices.
Becky’s Sunday yin class has a cult-like following so make sure to book ahead. If you are new to yoga, book in for one of her beginners courses.

lourdes orozco
Lourdes is a Reiki Master, Sound Healer, Cacao Ceremony Facilitator, Psychic Medium and Homeopath.
She has thirty year experience as a space holder for groups in workshops with a background in Performance Studies. Her life and work are informed by the Three Principles, Non-Duality and Taoism. Her understandings of health, disease, cure and healing are founded in these principles as well as in the principles of Homeopathy, Reiki, Toltec, Hopi and Navajo Shamanism and Zen Buddhism.

Kirsty is an international yoga teacher with 6 years of experience, offering both Vinyasa and Yin practices grounded in seasonal rhythms, elemental theory and Eastern philosophy.
Her classes are intuitive and nature-inspired – from energising flows to deeply restful Yin – and always responsive to the energy of the group. With a calm presence and a famously soothing voice, Kirsty creates space for students to reconnect, reset and move through life with a little more ease.

megan atkins
Megan found yoga during a challenging season of life, drawn to a practice that felt grounding, supportive, and restorative. What began as physical care soon revealed itself as something deeper – a practice that nourished her mind and nervous system, and one she felt naturally called to share with others.
Megan qualified as a yoga teacher with Yoga Kula Leeds in 2020 and has been teaching ever since, with a particular focus on yoga for women.
Her passion for pregnancy and postnatal yoga grew during her own pregnancies, when she experienced first-hand how vulnerable and transformative this time can be.

Morag's journey with yoga began in her teens, seeking a way to manage stress. Over the years, she's explored a variety of styles of yoga, consistently finding the practice to be supportive and grounding, particularly during life's transitions. Morag qualified as a yoga teacher on Yoga Kula’s 300h teacher training course in 2025.
Morag loves to share slow and restful practices like Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Slow Flows.
With a warm and grounding presence Morag's teaching style is rooted in inclusivity and accessibility, encouraging students to explore how poses and practices can be tailored to their unique needs.

Cassy’s journey with yoga began in 2012, when a back injury opened the door to a deeper understanding of healing, patience and self-acceptance.
Cassy weaves together the spiritual essence of yoga with her background in physiotherapy, offering anatomy-informed classes rooted in mindfulness, breath and embodied awareness.
Her classes are a sanctuary for healing and self-discovery, inviting each student to connect with their body’s wisdom and navigate their own path toward balance and wholeness.
