Why start yoga?

People come to yoga for lots of different reasons.

Some come to increase flexibility and strength, sometimes after an illness or injury.

Some come to find a new way to improve their physical and mental health.

Some come to just take time for themselves to empty their mind breathe deeply and relax amongst a like minded bunch of people.

welcome

Whatever your reason for wanting to try yoga, you will discover that every Kula class is carefully crafted with you in mind.

Yoga is a personal experience, so from your very first class, your teacher will begin to help you create a yoga journey around what most matters to you.

For many yoga becomes a lifelong journey of discovering ways to strengthen, soothe, and heal your body and mind in ways that will always surprise and uplift you.

3 Week Beginners Course

Yoga is practised by over 320 million people every day around the world and remains the most enduring wellbeing practice of all time.

A yoga class consists of mindful movement, breathing, meditation, wisdom and rest. After a yoga class you feel energised yet relaxed.

Yoga can make you stronger, calmer and improve your sleep.

We live in an age which is very busy and we tend to be ‘on’ a lot of the time. Yoga is an opportunity to come into the body, move, breathe and come back to finding balance in your life.

This ancient practice has been helping people for 1000’s of years and is a perfect tonic for modern life.

For a more in depth explanation of what to expect from your first yoga class we would recommend that you read our Beginners Guide

what is yoga?

Some common myths about yoga…

• I need to be super flexible

I need to be really fit

I’m the wrong shape or size

Yoga is for everyone, there is no right size, right shape, or right level of fitness and flexibility.

Yoga is a completely non judgemental, and non competitive way to build mental and physical strength over time.

This is guided always, by a commitment from us to a one to one development towards what you need, when you need it.

What are the various styles of Yoga?

There are many styles of yoga and discovering the one that’s right for you might seem confusing.

Below we have outlined the 20 different yoga styles practiced at Kula, and which styles of yoga are best to begin with if you are trying yoga for the first time.
